[Solved]: Plex media server isn't scraping a few single-episode seasons of looney tunes

hey, plex team—

Server Version#: latest version of plex media server (plex pass enabled)
OS Version#: macOS 10.12.6
Player Version#: n/a

SO, i’m slowing adding my looney tunes collection to plex. i’ve got

  • Season 1929
  • Season 1930
  • Season 1931
  • Season 1932
  • Season 1953
  • Season 2010
  • Season 2011
  • Season 2012
  • Season 2014

(yes, i’m starting from the ends with the weird 1953 in the middle. there isn’t a 2013 season). BUT, seasons 1929 AND 2012 aren’t showing for some reason. media is named appropriately. as subject line states, the problem seasons are both a single episode in length.

unsure if it’s related, but plex media server also isn’t grabbing thetvdb.com art for seasons 2011 or 2014 (nor does it show when i go to manually select it).

who will hold my hand? where do i begin?

Define “appropriately”, please

good call. on a double check, i had “2014” in the 2012 episode’s name.

so (hopefully it will scrape/scan post-trash empty before i finish this reply,) they NOW look like

…Season 1929/Looney Tunes - 1929x01 - Bosko, the Talk Ink Kid - Pilot-Remastered - HD 1080p.mp4
…Season 1930/Looney Tunes - 1930x01 - Sinkin' in The Bathtub.mp4
…
…Season 2011/Looney Tunes - 2011x01 - I Tawt I Taw a Puddy Tat.mp4
…Season 2012/Looney Tunes - 2012x01 - Daffy's Rhapsody.mp4
…Season 2014/Looney Tunes - 2014x01 - Flash in the Pain.mp4

still no sign of 1929.

Whenever there is trouble with Plex missing episodes, try to use the actual proper Plex naming format.

Looney Tunes - s1929e01 - Bosko, the Talk Ink Kid - Pilot-Remastered - HD 1080p.mp4

You using mp4 files complicates things further, because the can contain wrong meta tags.
Either clear those meta tags out,
or make sure their contents are 100% accurate
or do this:
Go to

  • Settings - Server - Agents - Shows - TheTVDB

In there, grab the line ‘Local Media Assets’ with your mouse and drag it downwards, so it ends up being at the bottom of the stack of active agents.
Repeat the same under

  • Settings - Server - Agents - Shows - TheMovieDatabase
  • Settings - Server - Agents - Movies - Plex Movie
  • Settings - Server - Agents - Movies - TheMovieDatabase

hey, @OttoKerner, you called it. going to sSSeEE format fixed it. so weird. i feel silly. now i know.

(i am familiar with mp4 tags, but, mine’s empty.)

thank you!
