[Solved] Plexamp 3.7.1 on macOS forgetting Theme-setting and defaulting to White

Hi,

after quitting Plexamp I will always be greeted by the White Theme, though I’ve set Plexamp to use the Dark skin. This error is reproducible.

I also have an older version (3.4.5) on another machine that keeps the setting as expected.

Except for that … it’s a great app and almost exactly what I need.

Btw … almost what I need: I still DO MISS the REMOTE control feature that once was there and now isn’t though the basic funtionality is there: I can still remote control an old Plexamp 1.1 on another machine just fine. Is it really so hard to re-implement the full functionality?

Nobody? Not a soul from the Plex-Team to react?

Anyway, I went back to version 3.4.5 and … that works perfectly fine. So, there definitely seems to be a problem with 3.7.1

Plus, I’ve noticed that the new version loses the remote connection to my Plexamp 1.1 time and time again. 3.4.5 keeps it up like I’d expect it.

Same issue here with 3.7.1 on Mac Big Sur, except that in my case it defaults to the ‘Light’ skin and won’t keep any others I set.

Hi, is anybody from the Plex-Team listening at all? Nothing? For paid software?

I’m still trying to find my way around the fact that Plexamp is no longer able to being remote controlled by mobile devices. No response to my feature request for ages, no roadmap I’m aware off. But with every update lots of features I will never need. Am I the only one to find this sad?

Now, a bug and not a single soul responding.

I still haven’t found a suitable alternative but I’m pretty done with what used to be one of my all-time favourite applications.

I discovered after posting here that turning off the ‘Track System Theme’ setting under ‘Appearance’ in Plexamp stops the app from defaulting to Light or Dark.

should be fixed now, and remote controllability is returning.
