The problem here is when Direct audio and video streaming is enabled on a WD DL4100 NAS there are a lot of pauses and that’s understandable when played through the Opera TV player, but here I think is a bug.

Now, when I play the same through the Chromecast, this is what I get from the Plex server.
So, whyt is the Opera TV player not using Direct Play for video when sending through the Chromecast works perfectly?
How can I make the Opera TV player (operating under Vewd) on the Sony TV Direct Play the video stream and not make the Plex server transcode from video from 1080p H.264 to 1080P H264.
There at the bottom, you have the max h264 level as 4.0. Might need to bump that higher. The app will set that depending on what your TV says it supports. Picking a higher level is usually ok in most cases. Most files are created with a higher level than really needed. If you run into issues playing some files, it could be the file actually does need the higher level and your TV doesn’t support it.
That worked. I’ve took the risk of loss of cabin pressure and set the maximum H.264 level to None and the TV takes the 1080p video stream directly. The player recommended the level was to be left a 4.0 so I didn’t think about changing it. After examining the source video I found out the video stream was encoded at level 4.1.
Only puzzle I’ve got now is that there is a slight judder like frames are being skipped. The TV is connected to the LAN by wire. Yet the Chromecast plays the film flawlessly. Would this be a issue with the Sony Bravia TV or the Opera TV player?
One would think that the TV would manage the same video stream from the Plex Media Server without issues or loss or quality?
