[Solved] Trouble with remote secure connection

Server Version#: 1.14.0.5468

Hello,

I recently set up a new Plex server on my Synology NAS. I am able to access my server remotely (and remote status is green) directly or via an unsecure app.plex.tv session. If I try to connect securely via app.plex.tv, I get the message: “The server “xxxx” does not allow secure connections”.

I’ve checked through the FAQ and forum posts, but don’t see any reason as to why only secure connections are not supported. I’ve checked my router settings and the remote port is forwarded.

Any thoughts as to what I can do to enable secure remote connections?

Thanks!

Settings - Server - Network - Show Advanced

From there you have “Required” , “Preferred”, or “Disabled”.

It sounds like yours has been set to “Disabled”

You must also make sure you’re signed into your Plex account on the server to use Secure connections.

It’s working now, thanks for the tip.

I had it set to “Preferred” and was logged in. I logged the server out of my account, saw the unclaimed message and re-logged in. That seems to have resolved the issue.
