Some files are not detected by the agents

Hello,
I just noticed that Plex can’t recognize several files, even though I can detect them on Emby.
My videos are correctly named VIDEOS (2024) and each one is in its own folder named after the video.
I don’t see what could be the problem.
To check if it was a naming issue, I moved a video that was recognized into a folder, but surprise, it isn’t recognized either.
FYI, I’m using TVShield, with network editing on my NAS.

Okay, so basically my hunch is that the folder you’re referring to doesn’t have the correct permissions for Plex to be able to go inside and see the files.

This could be many other things because I don’t know if you’re following the Plex naming guidelines, and I don’t know if files are being merged in Plex (if this is the case, you will see a Split option on the movie).

You also mentioned “agents” which is probably not the case. I’m taking what you mean by “plex can’t recognize files” as “plex can’t see the files” and not “plex can’t match the files” (which is what agents are for). So let’s discard the term agents if what you mean is that Plex isn’t adding the files.

You can also go into folder view in Plex and see if it can see that folder.

Hello, I don’t think that’s it. I moved a file that wasn’t detected into a folder containing a detected video, and the result is the same.
Furthermore, I just installed PMS on Docker, and all the videos are recognized. I think it’s the Plex agents on TVShield that are the problem. By the way, on Plex TVShield, not all the agents are present that are on the Docker version.

The ‘legacy’ agents will eventually be removed from all versions of PMS. Shield got it first.
