My plex server don't recognize some videos files storing in my NAS

Server Version#: 1.25.3.5409
Player Version#:

I am running plex media server in synology NAS (DSM7.0), and all video files are keeping in a folder named ‘videos’. However, part of files can’t be found in the plex server although they are in the folder.

I ever upgraded the server to the latest, scan the library and synchronize the metadata for many times, but still not working. Please share if you have any idea about this problem, thanks!

I have two different situation for this problem.
1. All video files with the same format under a sub-folder can’t be displayed and found completely in plex media server, and I share the file information for your reference.

First off your naming convention is waay off. You need to follow the guidance in: Naming and Organizing Your TV Show Files | Plex Support.

I know it always worked in the past. But PLEX is famous for working…until it doesn’t. Many of us went our own way but eventually ran into the unrecognized files problem. Correctly naming them was the solution. This may not be your only issue (might be individual file permissions) but it is something that must be done before other solutions can be found.

Also, do the PLEX Dance after renaming.

Also, I noticed you have TV programs in a Movie library which is a no go as well. TV stuff in a TV Library, Movies in a Movie library, and Music in a Music library, etc.

Hi, thanks for your information. I think I have to follow the naming rule and change all TV series to new folder. Thanks again.
