Server Version#: 1.40.1.8227 (Affects older server versions as well)
Player Version#: Plexamp 4.10 (and 4.9.1)
While troubleshooting other issues that affect the “Recent Plays” feature in Plexamp, I discovered an unrelated bug where certain “Recent Plays” entries fail to download and crash Plexamp when entering the Mix Builder.
-
Navigate to
Library -> Tracks
and hit the Play or Shuffle button at the top of the screen. This can alternatively be done by going to a given artist, expanding on the “Popular Tracks” view and hitting the Play or Shuffle button from that screen. -
Home -> Recent Plays
should now have a new entry for a mix called “Library” (yes, it’s still called that even if you created that entry from the “Popular Tracks” list for a given artist). -
Attempting to download the mix doesn’t work (nothing seems to happen), selecting “Edit in Mix Builder” results in a soft crash where we get to see the fancy new crash screen (on 4.9.1 this screen would just be solid gray).
Entries created for mixes from the “Mixes For You” section do not have the exact same context menu options as the “Library” mixes (the “Edit in Mix Builder” option is not present) so I am unable to confirm if the crash happens for those mixes too. Playing the “Library” mix seems to work like normal however. It’s worth mentioning that downloading these mixes does work on older versions of Plexamp (at least on 4.7.1).
