I’ve provided the server log from server1 because thats my main server, and i dont have logging on the other servers. So i have all 3 servers set to record a few key shows in 3 seperate locations, on 2 different servers(server 2 and 3 would delete after 30 days), I’ve noticed a few times that a recording showed as successful, but then the recording dissapeared(yes i’ve checked the .grab folder), but i had always assumed this was some sort of post processing issue and to me, seemed to be expected because of recording density on main server and overlapping scheduled due to sports overruns.
However, tonight it happened to one of my key shows that records on all servers for the first time. (the simpsons) all 3 servers seemed to somehow fail on recording the simpsons with the same results (this is the first time it happened to a show that runs on more than one server), server 1 was set to transcode while recording and a 15 minute buffer without commercial removal, server 2 was just set to record with a +60 minute bufffer after the show ended in case football ran late, and server 3 was set up the same as server 2(just recording to a different file server and with the extra CPU power commercial removal).
Anyways in all 3 locations there is just a file that says “The Simpsons (1989) - S31E06 - Marge the Lumberjill.edl” instead of a .ts file. like all of the others

The servers seemed to all record everything else scheduled at the time just fine. The first time i noticed this i though the issue was because of 2 scheduled recordings on the same iof they were overlapping on the same channe/tuner(8channel had an episode after the simpsons) but the 4 channel and 2 channel didnt have anything scheduled after the simpsons, just other channels on the other tuner(s). If it were CPU power related because of the 4 cores 4 threads of the 4 channel DVR then it wouldnt have failed on the 8CH DVR because it has 12 cores 24 threadsrecording just one more channel than the i5. If it were a permissions issue, then no other shows would have been recorded at the time. If it were a network issue, then the same would be true, except for server 3 which records locally

I have noticed a strange folder called “TV”

in my recorded TV directory that has various episodes from other folders like “local news this morning”, “datona 500”, and “little mermaid live” and except for the little mermaid live, these shows all have their own folder the strange thing is that it is moistly filled with these “edl” files that are only 1KB, also there are a few “(copy1).edl” files of other edl’s
