Some Series not showing

Hi,

I am running Plex server version 1.11.0.4666 on Windows 10 using a HDHomeRun Connect in the UK. However, I have two current problems and was hoping someone could help me with them.

Problem 1
Sometimes when I schedule a series to be recorded, they don’t show up in the recording schedule and don’t get recorded. For Example, this show that has an airing for February 1’st is set to record:

However, when I look in the recording schedule for that date you can see that the show isn’t showing:

If I go back and cancel the series recording and mark the individual episode to record, it does show in the schedule (There appears to be another bug here in that I have to reload the page after cancelling the season recording to schedule an episode recording otherwise I get the message “There was an unexpected error”):

I’m more than happy to provide logs on request, but I feel that since there is such a wide period of time this is happening in (I can’t just take a log starting just before and ending just after an error) it would be helpful to see if anyone had any insight first.

Problem 2

There are some shows that I know are airing later tonight, that I can’t find by searching on the guide. One such show is Would I Lie To You which I can see will be on 20:30 today and yet at 18:19 today I still cannot find it by searching. I have also tried updating the guide and that seemed to complete successfully.

EDIT: I’ve submitted the official form for bad EPG data so problem 2 may not be applicable here. I’m leaving it in case someone has any ideas that I can do but not holding up much hope on that one.

Problem 1: Without seeing the logs to see the messages displayed when the show is being analyzed for episodes to record I can only assume that in the recording settings you selected only “New” episodes instead of “New and Repeat” episodes. From your screenshots the surgeons episode you set an episode recording for does not show “New” under it like the “Hunted” Series you have scheduled.

Problem 2: When say searching the guide you are typing in the show in the in the search box as shown in the image below or are you just searching through the different sections such as Starting Soon, New Episodes Tonight, My Upcoming Shows, etc.

Thanks for your reply, and you were completely right on count 1. The issue was indeed that it was set to record only new not new and repeat. I naively assumed that new and repeat allowed it to re-record already recorded episodes, however, it appears as though it actually only records completely new airings. Oh well, lesson learnt.

And it appears my second problem may be because (although I thought I’d done this I must just be going crazy) the channel mapping wasn’t complete on the configure DVR page, so some channels weren’t assigned to EPG channels and therefore weren’t showing up (this is my guess at least).

So all seems to be working well at the moment. Thanks for the pointers :smile:
