Some videos won't fast-forward

Some movies won’t continue to play if fast forward (like using the right arrow on the remove to advance 30s). The player will hang and eventually time out. Server logs and movie file info attached.

I play MP4 videos so there is no transcoding on the server. Wired connection. I convert all my videos (from TV recordings) the same way. Some play w/o issue and some are terrible.

Can someone point me to why some videos, like the one attached, are not reliable?

Could you try the preview version of the app, that will be replacing the current version in the future? To access it choose ‘Enable Early Access’ in the user options menu of the current app. If you want to return to the old app, select ‘Leave Early Access’ from the user options menu in the preview version of the app.

I’ve had this with some MP4s, it appears to be the encode, as re-encoding in Handbrake makes it work.

There is no ‘early access’ in settings, but now I’m on 3.13.14. Plex already pushed the new version??

Thanks. I re-encoded using HB (to 30FPS) and FF works now.

Looking at the logs now, it appears your TV model isn’t supported anymore, so it wouldn’t have the preview option. Sorry for any confusion.
