Automatic addition of (properly licensed) lyrics from online service LyricFind is a Plex Pass feature.
However if you already have song lyrics from a different source in .txt or .lrc format you add them beside your music files.
File name the same as the audio track (except for the file name extension of course).
Then refresh the album/artist/library

The major question is, would Plex be able to detect Song lyrics added by iTunes in the Lyrics field?
Seems standard metadata format is used since metadatics osx metadata software shows the lyrics. So now I wonder, would Plex be able to detect lyrics metadata? Not sure I get the point storing lyrics in separate files if a metadata standard exists for that kind of information.

Currently not. For now it is only ‘sidecar’ .txt or .lrc files.

Not all file formats support storing lyrics in the metadata (if they support metadata at all). So the goal was to first implement a solution that works for all file formats.
Whether this gets extended to support internal lyrics remains to be seen. If enough ppl demand it, there are good chances for it.
