I have a small music library. Agent is set to Plex Music. Scanner is set to Plex Music. Sonic Analysis is enabled
Analysis doesnt seem to be working.
eg I choose Freeze guest DJ, and it auto deselects. I see no album radio options. etc
from the logs I was surprised to find items like: Completed: [192.168.0.31:46382] 200 GET /:/timeline?state=playing&duration=395002&time=75299&playQueueItemID=134&key=%2Flibrary%2Fmetadata%2F3223&ratingKey=3223&playQueueID=14&playQueueVersion=1&containerKey=%2FplayQueues%2F14&hasMDE=1&includeFields=thumbBlurHash (11 live) #116092 TLS GZIP 4ms 409 bytes (pipelined: 112)
What caught my attention was the “thumbBlurHash” - is this really what we expect to see here?
I suspect my sonic analysis is not working because it is running an agent that is not looking for the fields I need.
In the Library itself I guess you have Sonic Analysis checked, but do you also have in
Settings → Library → Analyze audio tracks for sonic features → As a scheduled task and when media is added?
If so, then add a new album and watch your dashboard to see if the sonic analysis works where you can see it processing 1 album. Mine takes maybe 5-10min per album on an older Celeron CPU.
If you see it finish and it still doesn’t work, check your most recently dated logs for errors. Beyond that I would be guessing, but I suggest adding a tag to your original post, PlexAmp to help grab the attention of a few more experts.
yes thanks, that’s it: I falsely assumed that I could run an adhoc analyse with the scheduled task turned off. I set the scheduled time to be imminent and watched it go to work.
