Sonic Analysis - scanning finished days ago but no results showing

Aha, I had an empty directory there named “Music Analysis 6 (processing)” before, but removed it as per OttoKerners instructions a bit up in this thread Sonic Analysis - scanning finished days ago but no results showing - #4 by OttoKerner

Perhaps it’s not advisory to do this? Added the folder back manually but the error remains. Also, have not done any permission changes in my Plex installation whatsoever.

If I wanted to redo all music analysis processing from scratch (a complete do-over of all the files in my music library), what would be the best way to achieve this? I’m out of other options right now, it seems.

the directory should be recreated (is it? are permissions correct on directory?)

it’s fine to delete before running and cancelling a scan to trigger the rebuild.

there is no need to do things from scratch as everything else looks to have completed successfully.

are you on windows and does your username have non-latin characters? it might be that there is some sensitivity to that.

No, the directory is not recreated any longer after the last update or the one before that.

Windows? Yes. Non-latin character? Yes. I have an “å” in my local appdata path for my first name:

C:\Users\Mårten\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server

That might very well be the problem here. Should I report this as a bug somewhere?

if you were feeling brave you could try renaming it to see if that fixes the issue. if so, let us know and we can see if the issue can be fixed in the server side.

Renaming the user profile seemed to solve my problem. The building indices were built correctly after that and now I can see sonically similiar artists, albums and tracks.

Thanks for all the help @elan!

awesome! we will make a note to fix
