Sonic is showing 2000+ Albums

Server Version#: 4.138.0
Player Version#: (web)
QNAP TS-853 Pro

I’ve noticed that my servers sat there constantly trying to process Sonic analysis with not a lot of progress happening. My QNAP is a little old but an Intel chipset and in general works pretty well.
I’ve temporarily made it Schedule-only+new whilst I figure out why its not processing faster. I trigger it by re-scanning the library.
From the logs I’ve looked at I think I’m seeing some kind of timeout issue but I don’t know why.
I tried putting the process priority to Normal to see if I could speed the analsis but thats not helped much.

I’ve just rebooted the server prior to gathering logs to see if that helps too.

I’m wondering if Sonic is worth it… does it only benefit for PlexAmp ?

I found if I grep the log for MusicAnalysis I think I see a bit more info/progress… so it does seem to be moving, just taking an age. Is this a good way to “monitor” sonic analysis ?

So I left plex scanning the audio files for over 2 weeks.
During that time I had to stop plex/restart plex because the sonic analysis just seemed to freeze up.
I eventually got to a point a last week where it seemed to think nothing was left to do.

But now, each time I restart plex, it suddenly decides theres 200+ albums to scan.

I can upload logs here - but how do I get plex’s support attention here?

Did you ever get a response to this?

I recently acquired an M2 Mac Mini to replace an X86 Ubuntu machine, and am running into a similar issue. My server constantly shows “Processing 3 albums” with no status bar, and I’ve also had to reboot a few times over the past several weeks.

After a while it’ll no longer show the sonic analysis as a task running, but after restarting Plex it’s back again.

Version 1.41.3.9292 of plex server running latest Mac OS as of this post.

No, never got any answer.

I’ve just upgraded to 1.41.3.9292 today so will see what that brings

But periodically Plex will sit there analysing (I think the same) 6 album’s and I don’t know why.
