Sonos unable to browse Plex music

I’m no longer able to browse my Plex Media in Sonos. I could in the past. Called Sonos support and they tested my account and their test account and are not able to get it to work. Sonos advised I contact Plex as they believe it is a Plex issuse. Ì’m able to cast from Plex to Sonos and I’m able to play Sonos Plex playlists that are in Sonos so the two can connect.

The only issuse is I can not browse my library in Sonos.

Any idea?

I just tested and I can browse my Music Library from Sonos.

What does this mean? A Sonos Playlist that contains items from Plex?

In Sonos you save playlists from when I could browse plex. I have playlists from Plex that I can play which confirms that Sonos can reach my Plex server.

Stretch here…Is there an external ip address that Sonos app needs to access that will allow it to browse music. Just wondering if my UDM Pro is blocking the Sknos app trying to come back into my Plex Server.

I mean, did you configure it to block necessary things? :stuck_out_tongue:

No I did not block necessary things that I’m aware of but my UDM Pro regularly detects intrusion attempts on the Plex Server from countries all over the world. I block these intrusion attempt IP addresses. I went through the list and activated them and tested access to browse music on Sonos by pausing all the blocked IPs did not resolve the issue.

Disable firewall/IDS blocking, restart Plex, test.

Tested and no change

I’ll look more closely later when I can - and I’m hoping somebody more knowledgeable looks too.

I do see multiple requests from Plex to your server for the music Library details.

I’m surprised to see multiple requests from different Plex IP addresses close together. That doesn’t seem normal.

Not sure if that was because Sonos helpdesk was testing their Plex server on Sonos as well as mine. In both cases Sonos would not browse music.

I’m bumping in case someone can help.

Sonos continues to direct me to Plex to resolve. They believe it is a Plex issue. Thoughts on where the issue could be?

I haven’t had any luck in resolving. How can I get someone to look at the issue and help resolve. Sonos believes this is a Plex issue.

The issue being I’m not able to browse my music in Sonos from Plex. I could in the past and not sure what changed.

I’m having a similar/same issue. It seems this was an issue previously that was fixed back in November. When I open Plex from the Sonos app, it says ‘Unable to browse music’. I am however able to search for artists, albums, songs and I can play individual songs. If I click on an artist instead though, it returns to the ‘Unable to browse music’. If I select a song it’ll play one then stop. I uninstalled and reauthorized but no change.
All apps are up to date, I believe. Sonos is on Version 14.8.1, Plex for Sonos is 3.0.0, and Plex is 1.26.2.5797.

@vanstinator tagging for visibility since it seems related to the thread you closed in November.

I checked and I to can find and play songs from Plex when searching for them from Sonos but unable to browse. Sonos continues to say the issue is Plex. To me this seams like a Sonos issue.

I’m on Plex Version 1.26.2.5797 and Sonos 14.8. Both state as current. I don’t know what to do. May help if you open a ticket with Sonos to get them to look into it and hopefully seek higher level support. I have asked for the same.
