Server says “Fully accessible outside your network”.
-
My SSL Certificate is expired, but I’m set to “Prefer” (not require) Secure Connections, and I’ve set the Android TV app to allow insecure connections always.
-
I was able to authorize my TV’s app using the 4-digit code, and it’s listed as an authorized device on my server settings page.
The Android Plex Clients on my Samsung phone and tablet can reach the server just fine, as can the Web OS client running on my Vizio TV. The only one that won’t connect (to ANY of my servers anymore) is the one running on the Sony Bravia.
Like the web client and claiming the server itself, I gather this has something to do with the credential tokens on the Sony TV being out of sync with my recent password change. Problem is, I have no earthly idea how to reset or clear the tokens on the TV. Force stopping and clearing the data, cache, and settings in the app management page did nothing. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app did nothing.
[EDIT]
And just like that, 24 hours later, with no additional action whatsoever on my part, it’s working again. Ponderous. I have to say, I’ve always had beef with this operational model. The fact that mere access to my own media assets, hosted on my own local network is so dependent on my WAN connection (and everything working perfectly in Plex’s far-off control rooms of Spice Gas) is abhorrent to me. And this entire password reset debacle is a prime example of why.
