I have a sony PS4 that the plex App simply fails to perform satisfactorily.
It does not seem to matter whether its in the menu screen or playing a movie, it crashes with error CE-34878-0
This never happens on my PS3 running plex
I HAVE BEEN FACING THE EXACT SAME ISSUE EVER SINCE I UPGRADED MY PS4’s HDD (about 4 months ago). I’d consider myself EXTREMELY LUCKY if I was able to watch a complete 45-minute episode without the APP crashing twice. PLEX IS PRETTY MUCH UNUSABLE.
This issue has been talked about ALOT on the web for at least a year, based on my research. It just seems that PLEX DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ITS APP’S STABILITY ON PS4’s WITH UPGRADED HARD DRIVES.
My PS4 is still using the original hard drive and of course has the latest updates (sony side) and the latest Plex App. Does not happen every time lately, but does seem to happen more when a video is paused for an extended time.
I’m having the same issue. Has anyone found a solution? I also notice that the app does not show up in the list of apps on the home screen. I have to go into the library to find it. Can anyone shed light on this?
Same here… even using the early access. The PS4 app is sooooo laggy compared to any other app
Same problem with PS4 Pro. Every time I try to fast forward it seems to crash.
Yes, even almost 100% guaranteed to crash on ps4 wake up. Also it sometimes crashes so hard I need to reset ps4, not just plex app.
Funny that I bought NUC so that I can transcode everything for ps4 and just have one device, even thought it can’t direct play almost anything. But this is just tragic.
I thake it as my mistake as I should have known better then to expecting to just work.
