"Sorry! Something went wrong" message

I saw this was a common topic in prior years but I never found a solution posted.

I’m a new Plexer & quite surprised how well it works, including interfacing my Hauppauge Quad Tuner.

We were watching some live sports this evening from a Win10 computer on YouTubeTV & casting to the TV. I thought this would be a good time to further check-out Plex, so I fired up the app on my Samsung Galaxy S10 running Android 10, chose the same game from LiveTV OTA & told it to record as well as play so we could watch live. Video & audio was great on the phone except it was in Spanish. Looked around on my app to see if something was wrong, nothing found. I went down the the Win10 server computer & checked using the web player & it was in English. Stumped, I went back to the phone & restarted the app & it was in English this time, so OK, let’s move on.

So I switched off YouTube TV & started casting from my phone. Bah-Humbug! I got the Sorry! Something went wrong! message. I have 2 Chromecast devices connected to that TV, a real Chromecast dongle & a Sling AirTV box. I tried casting to the AirTV device & it hooked up & started to play. Hooray—sorta. I decided to rewind to see what I missed during all my fooling around and BOOM! That was the end of that. Now I get the same Sorry! Something went wrong message every time from either Chromecast device.

We have good Wi-Fi, looked at the Chromecast dongle from DSRouter app & it reports connected on 5GHz, Excellent quality at 390Mbps. The AirTV Player is even better at 650Mbps.

So, has anyone actually found out what is causing this error? I have never seen that message before so I’m assuming it it specific to Plex. I cannot watch sports on a tiny phone screen!

Thanx…Len
