"Sorry, Something Went Wrong" on Chromecast from Plex Android

Player Version#: 9.13.1.37459

Desktop access to PMS can cast to any Chromecast in our house from https://app.plex.tv.

If I try to cast the same video from my Android phone using the above version of the App, the Chromecast only displays “Sorry, Something Went Wrong.” Sometimes, not always, the App will display “An error occurred while attempting to play this video. Please check your connection and try again.”

I will e-mail the Android logs once this is posted.

Let me know what else I can do to troubleshoot. Needing this solved to keep my Plex subscription - Wife is about to blow her top (she rarely uses desktop). Thanks.

Couple of things to try ,

  • reset your network settings on the mobile phone ( wifi)
  • reset your Chromecast
  • make sure your Google Home app is up to date

the error is to do with the network so it can be that the hand-over is not going to plan
