Having moved to OpenPHT after realizing PHT was no longer supported and missing the x265 play option, I am now missing one of the feature I used for my kids’ movies: “sort by folder”. Is there an option to re-activate it or did i just not see it?
In effect, my kids are tri-lingual and depending on who they are going to watch movies with, I need to select the right list of movies (based on the audio language) from them to pick from. The only way I found to do that was to split the movies by folders.
In the old PHT I remember I had to switch to the media stream skin to get it back but heard Media stream is no longer working with OpenPHT… On OpenPHT I tried all 3 skins with no luck so alternatively is there another skin that i could use that has “sort by folder”?
Finally, is there a possibility that I could add a feature request for this “sort by folder” option to be added? I mean it should not be difficult (it is apparently there for home movies/music) + was there before and from what I could tell having search the forum, it seems that I am not the only one missing this option so would be a great addition to OpenPHT.

If you want to keep movies separated by language you can simply create separate Plex media sections for each language. In my own Plex media library I have three different movie sections. One generic movie section with all kinds of mixed content, one movie section suitable for young kids without foreign language skills (so all audio is Swedish), and a third movie section for slightly older kids with some English language skills (usually with subtitles too). And of course I’ve also done the same thing for TV shows, which also have three such sections in my library.
It should be quite simple to do the same thing for three different audio languages.
You just need to move some of the movies (or shows) into new section folders (very fast moving when still on the same drive), and then create some new library sections linked to those new folders.
The end result should be much better than a ‘sort by folder’ option, as you would get proper metadata-based titles and posters for everything, which might not be the case for pure folder-based browsing.
Note that I’m not dismissing your suggestion, but merely suggesting another way to get what you need without waiting for program changes.
