This is a request to sort/filter collections, NOT items within collections. Currently, collections are sorted alphabetically, with no additional options.
It would be useful to be able to sort my collections in order to find those with zero items, those with the most items, or those which were updated most recently.
In addition, filtering would allow me to determine which collections have different content ratings or share labels. As it is now, if I want to figure out which collections have been labeled “Kids” (for example), I have to edit every collection one at a time and review the label field.
I made an exact request but was pointed to yours so voting for you!
I too would like to be able to sort and filter Collections themselves. Plex auto created Collections with 0 or 1 item don’t need to exist so sorting would help a ton. (which yes you can set a parameter to avoid those being created all together but they’ll still exist if you happen to delete one of the movies). More importantly though, the ability to filter based on shared labels. Your example with kids is spot on. I use that and a literal “shared” label so that my users only see a curated library of stuff they’d like, but collections abides by the allow and exclude so they basically don’t have collections because I don’t know which label sits with what.
Top notch request that I hope gets implemented and one I’m kind of confused that it doesn’t exist already.
