I’ve added a 2nd season to a series of which I’ve watched the first season.
I then sort by ‘Unplayed’ & ‘Date Added’ and expect the 2nd season to show up but it doesn’t.
Is this a bug with the new Metadata Agent? Because this used to work before.
Now it seems that if a series has been even partially watched it is then considered played and won’t show at all…despite having an entire season of 12 episodes which are…Unplayed!?
Seems to work ok here. What player are you using?

Yes, exactly.
It doesn’t work on the Plex Web App v4.64.3 nor on the Android App. v8.21.2.27212 (f3c29f79).
Oddly, it does show up under the ‘Recently Added’ in the Android app so it’s not like Plex isn’t aware of it?
So…no solution then?
Right now I am thinking there may be something wrong with your DB. Might just need to optimize in server troubleshooting settings.
I wanted to ask…When the library is not filtered/sorted. and you scroll down the grid to that show. Does it have the orange block on the poster showing the number of unwatched episodes?

Yes, it has the yellow numbers indicating correctly the number of unwatched episodes. And this shows up with my wanted filters (unwatched/date added) but it appears in 18th position while it’s the very last added episodes (one entire season).
So it’s really just the sort by date added that isn’t working properly.
“Date Added” is the day that the entire TV Show was first added to your Plex server. e.g. For example, the day you added season 1, episode 1.
“Last Episode Date Added” is the day that the most recent episode was added to your Plex server.

^^ That would only the order of the sort. The show should still be listed. If the shows not even there, something is wrong.
Ah didn’t see this comment. So it is working, just in the wrong order. So the “By Last Episode Date Added” as mentioned above should fix that for you.
Thanks! I wasn’t aware of that and yes that works. Although, the behavior is still strange and not very consistent. I still see things not ordered properly whether it’s by “Date Added” or “Last Episode Date Added”.
For example, I just added another season to a much older series I’ve added a looong time ago. Yet, when I sort by “Date Added”, it now appears only just after a much more recent series (by coincidence or not, just after the ‘problem’ series that prompted me to open this thread, so in the 19th position).
Hopefully this will be picked up by the Plex team and eventually fixed.
At least now it 's in a much more manageable state so thanks!
