Short version: New special features that I place into my subfolders of an existing movie in my library don’t automatically update, even if I do a manual scan of my library. Is there a way to re-scan the specific movie in my library to update the special features?
Long Version: I organize collections of shorts into one title. For example, I have all the old Popeye shorts and created a movie folder called “Popeye” with an enclosed folder labeled “Shorts,” that way the 100 or so shorts don’t take up multiple spaces in my library and all the Popeye shorts are located in one place. The issue with this is, if I find another short or want to replace one with a higher quality version, Plex will not automatically scan the title. Any new short or special feature placed into one of the special features folders won’t appear on Plex, and the deleted video will remain in the special features panel but unplayable because the server can’t find the missing media. The workaround has been to remove the “Popeye” folder out of my “Movies” folder, drop it back in, and have Plex rescan it, but the problem with this is that I like to place all my shorts into a playlist, and if I remove the shorts from my library, all the items in the playlist get deleted, and (this is a separate issue that I also wish would be fixed) it is REALLY time consuming to add multiple titles to a playlist.
Is there a way to scan one movie so the special features show up?
