I have a few questions in regards to media scraping and how Plex will read the files. I have a bunch of “Specials” for Parks and Rec but don’t know where to place them. Some of them are named as “Parks and Recreation S00E13 The Paley Center Salutes Parks and Recreation” and others are named as “parks.and.recreation.s07e00” which confuses me because, why are some for Season 7? I had thought all Specials go into a Season 0 or Specials folder and then are ordered according to the S00E## number?
I also have a whole selection of Parks and Rec “Webisodes” that are season specific - So how do these get sorted or scraped into media? ie. “Parks.And.Recreation.S06E00-2.Webisodes.Collection.The.Hapley.Group” (All of this has confused me, I just really want it sorted to satisfy my OCD and be able to watch them)
Any help would be appreciated, also this is my first post, so if this is not the correct topic to post under, please forgive me, thank you.
Edit: I also use TinyMediaManager 3.1.10 for scraping and renaming as well.
All specials inside Plex follow the TVDB or TMDB order. You have to look up both to see how your specials match up. They are put into a folder named Specials or Season 00
You can change which show order you want by clicking the pencil on the poster under Advanced
In this case TVDB has 13 episodes listed as specials and TMDB has 11. Any titles you have with a s07e00 format will not work
You have to find out where that title is listed in one of the online sources and rename it to s00e01 format
Your episode listed as s07e00 will play in your continue watching when you get to season 7 as the first episode as long as it’s named correctly. It might be listed as s00e04 on TVDB for instance
Your webisodes are a different matter. Those may not be listed as specials at all. You would probably have to add those as season extras. On the prepay page they would be listed down at the bottom where you would typically see trailers and other extras provided with downloaded metadata
