SRT2UTF-8.bundle cant find it ?

hi
i have problem with srt subtitles in my language (Arabic) it always appears like unreadable samples
anyway i find this app to solve this problem and force the subs to encode it into utf-8
i already unzip the file into plug-ins folders on my synology nas but cant find it in agent tab in server sitting
how can i enable it and solve this problem of encoding once and for all

Make sure you extracted the file into the correct location and folders.

It should look something like this in your: Plex/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-ins folder.

Plug-ins
…|_ SRT2UTF-8.bundle
…|_ Contents
…|_ Code
…|_ Resources

If the folder structure does not look like that, then Plex will not be able to pick it up. You will probably also have to rename the main folder SRT2UTF-8.bundle instead of SRT2UTF-8.bundle-master.

it is just like you says but i cant find it in the agents bar ?

Hopefully the two images I have attached will help you locate it. The first image shows the file listing, if your listing does not match the listing shown, then you need to correct that. There should only be one folder named SRT2UTF-8.bundle.

You may need to restart Plex before it shows up in the agents as shown in the second image.

hi

it showed up after updating the app and i click the check mark in both movies and tv

but still the srt subtitle shows like unreadable samples and not in utf-8 what should i do ?

For already scanned movies, you must do a forced refresh of the section.
Also remember to click on the little gear icon first, and configure it.

unfortunately it is still not working

Then switch PMS into debug logging…
Do a forced refresh of a section, and after it’s done, upload all the srt2utf-8 logs in a zip

hi i just did a forced refresh (sorry at first i thought it is the “regular up date library button” and the subtitle starts to works on some of the finished scanned movies perfectly

and tried it on my ipad also appears good

thank you and every one else in this thread i really appreciate it

Do note, that SRT2UTF-8 agent should be the LAST agent on the list!!!
Goes for both freebase and “the movie db”, as well as tv-shows

Otherwise, it’ll not work for new movies

should i change it now or wait until the up date is complete

also should i always make it the last on the list (if i add a new agents in the future) ?

Wait until it’s finished.

And when adding a new agent, you’ll have to adj. the order to make SRT2UTF-8 the last one…

Reason…When a new media is added, we need to have the local agent to run first, in order to detect the sidecar srt’s. Also the OpenSubtitle, if used, cuz can’t convert an srt that hasn’t been downloaded yet

clear

but i download my subs manually mostly from subscene will it be convert automatically when i add it to a movies or tv show folder ? or should i do another forced refresh ?

Automatically, as long as SRT2UTF-8 is the last agent on the list

Hello
I have the same problem (only my letter is č and ć) I installed SRT2UTF-8.bundle like u said here did refresh all (force) and its not working at all. If you coud tell me what to do next to make it work…

here are my logs https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BzlwnF5mUULMMHFxc283UUJJUlk

Better, and can you confirm, that you did set a default language in the preferences?
Cuz according to the logs, it’s set to none?

Okay i reinstalled everything and then installed SRT2UTF-8 and set it up and than created a library and now it is worknig ok. thanks.

Alright it seems it dosent work… for almost all of movies is like this Zajeta slika.JPG http://imgur.com/iRnBZD7 original.srt and Srt2Utf-8 at the end they are all in ANSI only .tmpPlex is in UTF-8. If i delete previous 3 and rename last one than it works but this is same as i would change original subs to UTF-8 myself… Here and there are movies with only 2 susb original that is now UTF-8 and backup one with .Srt2Utf-8.

For above, I would need logs again

And the tmpfile indicates a run, where there where a critical error, as indicated in the previous logs,so it never finished the jobs.

And did you set a default language, as I asked?

Yeah to slovenian . Here are new logs https://file.si/file/af8e405a
