I recently had a custom ssl certificate expire. Went to try and go back to using the built-in certificate and now remote access isn’t working.
I tried reinstalling PMS (Ubuntu Promox LXC) and I have claimed it, but still can’t get remote access to work. Port forwarding is all correctly configured.
I can share logs via PM, but any suggestions on what to do to get a new ssl certificate from plex that works?
I am seeing
“[Cert] tls connection from xxx came in with unrecognized plex.direct SNI name xxx; using installed plex.direct cert.
Cert: incomplete tls handshake from xxx: sslv3 alert certificate unknown (ssl routines)”
This error is usually caused by the client(s) still having the old certificate cached.
Force-restarting the client will have it pull a fresh certificate when it connects to the server.
If you have an IPv6 header [:ffff:ip.v4.addr.here] then all you need to do is turn off IPv6 in Settings - Server - Network - Show Advanced.
If you’d like, I will open PM to you for your DEBUG logs.
Yeah, I’d like to PM the logs and discuss, if you don’t mind!
I have disabled IPv6 and I have tried clearing browser caches and also killing and restarting apps. What’s odd to me is that now I am able to mostly? remotely connect, even though the web app says “Not available outside your network” with the angry red icon, but it will constantly drop out and tell me that “app.plex.tv. is unable to connect to ‘MyServer’ securely”. Refreshing will bring things back, but only temporarily.
