When trying to add the series “Stacey Dooley” (thetvdb-387244 [thetvdb.com]) it matches with the tmdb series “Stacey Dooley in the USA”. (tmdb-45660 [themoviedb.org])
TheTVDB no longer has a series called “Stacey Dooley in the USA”. They now have the series “Stacey Dooley”, which includes the episodes from “Stacey Dooley in the USA” plus other specials and another season (to match the BBC’s record of the show [bbc.co.uk]). But this info is unavailable on plex, as it always matches the TMDB series, with only 2 seasons.

Does the TVDB have the episode order you want?
- Edit the show
- Choose Advanced
- Set Episode Ordering = TheTVDB(Aired)
- Refresh metadata if Plex does not do so automatically
Plex defaults to The Movie Database for new TV show libraries. To change the default for a library, edit the library, choose Advanced, set Episode Ordering as desired.

I have tried what you have suggested, and Episode Ordering is already set as TheTVDB as the library default. But I changed it specifically to “TheTVDB(Aired)” for the series. After, I refreshed the metadata, and still there is no change.
The other problem, is that the series is labelled as “Stacey Dooley in the USA” in plex, where the series is NOT called that, but rather just “Stacey Dooley”. (Link to BBC in original post with correct series name).
I am looking to not just get the appropriate episodes recognized and given the proper metadata, but also to have the series given the correct name.
