great stuff on making the app more useable but would it be possible to return the functionality to be able to sort the content by date added?
Since it switches to the hd when the ram is full would putting in a faster hard drive or solid state improve the performance? I have also noticed the bigger my plex library gets the slower it goes thats why i am wondering if replacing the drive would help any. Thank you for all the responses and the help!

That’s something we will re-evaluate after this platform update, but it really depends on how the experiance will be.

Theoretically yes. However, how much (or any) real-life impact is really unknown to us.

I’ve already done that but it is still 720 blown up to 1080

This has been checked and verified using test cards. I posted a link to the test cards elsewhere in the PS3 section of the forum.
The PS3 app does not display images in full 1080 resolution
Is it possible for you to keep all data on the HDD, rather than redownload all of the data each time?
I’ll have to test out the PS3 again, since it is the only option i have for Netflix in my bedroom…

I’m not really sure what data you mean, but generally the answer is no since our SDK doesn’t allow us to store anything but very small amount of data to hard drive.

That would be really awesome to have the filter and sorting option back on the PS3. Unwatched and by date added was my way of sorting.

Another annoying issue on the PS3 app, is the impossibity to get 5.1 channels work properly, as mentionned many times on this forum and others.

I have problems with rear right speaker won’t play any sound when playing a video with 5.1 sound. Works when using DLNA server.
How do you guys setup 5.1 in your system? Do you turn all your 7.1 LPCM channels off? Just curious as I used to leave 7.1 on and with my 5.1 setup I didn’t know whether I was losing channels or whether my receiver would put the surrounds together or not.
Tested the system out with the Disney WoW disk, with 7.1 LPCM on and off. It sounded the same to me so I doubt this setting is affecting Plex.
I’m closing this issue to prevent it from becoming a mega thread, I’ll re-open it once we have more updates regarding the PS3 platform release, please start a dedicated thread if you are having non-performance related issues.
