Stop auto update for specific tv show

I have a few old tv shows with a lot of episodes named according to the tvdb sXXXXeXX format. Year and episode number that is.

It was perfect at one point but now I’m noticing that the tvdb page is being updated and episodes are added which changes the numbering and messes up my library.

Is there any way to lock a specific tv show to not update or get new meta data once you’re happy with it?

I’ll never be adding to or changing those specific tv shows myself so i just want things to stay the way they are.

Bump. Anyone able to help with this one?

I think that as long as you do not specifically refresh the metadata on a TV Show yourself (or the entire library), then it won’t be refreshed.

If you are really concerned, you can manually lock every field so they won’t ever update. Might even be able to do a bulk edit, where you select every episode, click the pencil edit icon that appears along the top, then click the lock icon next to each field. This doesn’t give access to every field (I just tested this), but the major ones like title, date aired, and summary are there.

TheTVDB usually doesn’t mess with old shows though. Mind sharing which one you are concerned about? I’d like to know if I am going to have an issue myself.

I bet it’s Looney Tunes.

Yeah that’s the problem. Sometimes you need refresh the entire library.

Cool. I’ll try to bulk lock. Maybe that’ll do the trick. Thanks for the suggestion.

I’ve had most issues with Disney Animated Shorts. I’m sure Looney Tunes has the same issue though. ^^

What I’d really like is to be able to exclude a specific tv show from the refresh all function I guess.

Or maybe I’ll get tiny media manager and have the metadata locally instead. Just not sure if it’s worth the effort.
