Stop Playback not present on "Now Playing"

Server Version#:1.14.1.5488
Player Version#:3.83.1 & 3.77.4
Not sure when it went away, but using Edge, Chrome and Firefox, I no longer get the “Stop Playback” option when hovering over the “Now Playing” Media Thumbnail.
I have a Roku 2 user that is on pause playing a media file and I want to be able to Kill that streaming session.
It seems like only a few weeks ago I killed a session from this same user fine. (Yes - I have a Lifetime Plex Pass)
Any help appreciated.

Tks…

Move your cursor over the user’s name / avatar. You’ll see an option to stop playback.

Also, I’m using the new dashboard in Plex Web hosted on plex.tv, not the local version installed with PMS.

On Web Client 3.77.4, When I hover over the media thumbnail OR the users name / avatar, I get nothing - when I click on EITHER it takes me to the media page that is playing.
No popup on hover over user avatar or media thumbnail.
On Web Client 3.83.1, Same as above but nothing happens when I click on Avatar (again, no popup on either to “Stop Playback”

Here’s what I’m seeing:

Chrome, Windows 10, https://app.plex.tv/desktop (3.83.1)

Move pointer over my name. I don’t click on anything. “Stop playback” box slides over my name. If I click on the X then it stops playback.

Yup - that’s pretty much what I got a month or so ago.

Now - I get nothing when I move the pointer over the users name / Avatar. I only mentioned the clicking to give all the information I have. Just hovering gives me nothing.

Restart PMS?

Done - twice.

Shows the same User still active. It must have reconnected the session.

Do you have any extensions or anything like that running that might affect the page. (if using chrome try an incognito window)

Strange.

Maybe clear the browser cache or reboot the system where you’re using Plex Web?

Try Plex Media Player. It shows the same status layout as v3.77.4, including option to stop playback.

Forgot to mention - trying this on 3 different machines, cleared cache etc on each.
HOWEVER, I just started another stream from my iPhone and I do get the “Stop Playback” ok.
SO, it only seems to be the ROKU 2 app that is causing the issue

this is a bug with the older Roku app that was fixed in new app.

Interesting, I wonder how I was able to stop a previous stream about a month ago for the same user / Roku. (maybe sporadic)?
When you say an older Roku app, is that new app available for the Roku 2?

If your friends app is the one with a black background then it is the older one 5.xx. When we updated to the new app 6.x.x it was discovered that a bunch of older devices like the Roku 2 do not run the new app well because of lower memory and such so those devices were reverted to the old app temporarily while we try to solve those issues.

so your friend for a bit of time had the newer app. obviously i don’t know when exactly you stoped playback before but guessing it was during that time.

Great - thanks for the info, very informative. Hopefully you can sort out the memory issues with the older machines, although I may just get them a new Roku Premiere!
