Player Version#: Android 8.8.2.21525
Push notifications were working great until 2 days ago, I no longer receive New Content/New Item On Deck. I still receive notification for Playback Started.
I have updated everything - restarted server - uninstalled, restarted phone, reinstalled - cleared data/cache - double checked “push notifications” selected in server, and all notifications selected in app
Only thing i saw in the log that seemed related to this was in Plex Media Server.log
Nov 08, 2020 09:53:58.038 [13180] DEBUG - Push: Waiting for refresh queue of 1 items to quiesce.
I have similar issues the differences are I’m on iOS but the notifications stopped a few weeks ago and I don’t get any notifications from 3 different PLEX Servers (Windows/QNAP/Linux).
As per your log file they all seem to be having issues using PUSH - “Nov 09, 2020 09:12:24.081 [0x7fb3dbfff700] DEBUG - Push: Waiting for refresh queue of 5 items to quiesce.”
Maybe @ChuckPa can throw some light on it. I have been a Plex user since 2014 and tried all combinations of resets and reconfiguration.
I cant believe there are no more posts unless nobody uses notifications but I find them useful.
I’m on Production Release on my iPhone and Beta on my iPad.
Server: Version 1.20.4.3517 (Synology)
iOS 14.2 / Plex 7.9
Same here. I stopped receiving notifications for new content on my iPhone and iPad a week or so ago. It seems to coincide with a recent Plex server upgrade (to Version 1.20.4.3517). I also upgraded both devices to iOS 14.2 recently… not sure if that has anything to do with it.
Based on your experience I switched server update channel to Beta and went from 1.20.4.3517 to 1.20.5.3583 - then added a new movie, it pushed as well as 4 others that had never come through - I had to add a TV episode in order to get the 14 notifications I had been missing from my TV library to push through.
Thank you for posting your findings, and push notifications seem to be working for me now…although I wish I new what the problem was instead of having a beta install take care of it.
I guess it was a bug that was either accidentally fixed or the fix was left out of the release notes. My 1.20.4 notifications were also broken, and updating to 1.20.5.3600 fixed it.
