Store All Plex Data on External Drive

Hello all,
I wanted to know if it was possible to store all Plex data on an external drive such as metadata and cache? I am running PMS on a Mac but with only a 128GB SSD. I would prefer to keep this info on an external SSD. With that said, the “PhotoTranscoder” folder gets filled out quickly and doesn’t empty itself… Is there a way to auto empty that folder?

Thanks!!!

Video Preview Thumbnails can take up a lot of space. You can reduce the size of the Plex folder by disabling their generation and deleting existing thumbnails.

To disable: Settings → Libraries → Generate Video Preview Thumbnails = never.
To delete: Edit the library → Advanced. Deselect “Enable video preview thumbnails.” Select “Delete Preview Thumbnails.”

Regarding moving the Plex data folder, see this thread:

Thanks for your reply. Okay, so I did that and followed the instructions in that link… Now It seems to have lost all my settings for my libraries! None are there!! aaahhhhh

Nevermind! Put the symbolic link in the wrong place  all is good now! Thank you!!
