Strange files in recorded folder - .log .dictionary .edl .txt @ #2737

Hi folks,

I get a couple of strange files sometimes, when recording a Show / Movie.

For example I’ve recorded Bayreuther Festspiele and get several files with the .ts file

  • @
  • .log
  • .2737
  • .dictionary
  • .edl
  • .txt
  • .ts

… where did it come from?
… where did it go?

This is probably a by-product of the “commercials remover” working.
I assume when it is done these files are erased?

hahaha!

Those files are there now for several days. So I guess, the remover gave up. Actually, those files (incl. the folder) stay there, even after I delete the show / movie via the Plex App. The .ts file is gone, but not those files.

That’s how I stumbled upon those guys in the first place, 'cos I deleted a show / movie but the folder was still there.

Quite likely, yeah.

since the commercial remover is not working / detecting the commercials in German / Austrian TV, I will simply stop using it.

Are there ways to “train” the plugin somehow with German commercials?

You can try and create a custom comskip.ini

If you are in Germany and are receiving terrestrial TV, I can tell you that comskip in general is not able to handle h.265 video yet (which is what is used by terrestrial broadcasts in DVB-T2 in DE).

the dvr recording is a .ts file with x264 - actually i would love to see plex using x265 instead. Anyway, thanks for the comskip.ini hint. I guess, that file will get overwritten with every update?

No, the Plex data folder won’t get changed by an update.
