I have a strange problem, my son is trying to watch an old anime series, but at a point it stopd playing episodes. He was watching it on a Samsung TV. I opend the the episode on my PC and it started playing without problems. Tested multiple episodes and the same thing happening.
Then i run the same episode on my browser, it didnt run, so i opend the dashboard and i got this. The dashboard showd the episode is playing but the player is not playing anything. Included a screenshot of my plex dashboard.
Dose anyone know what the problem is and how to fix it?
Thank you
The file is being transcoded due to the HEVC Main 10 profile used in the source file.
HEVC cannot be played in a browser, it must be transcoded to H.264, likewise for the audio in this case, the Opus stereo audio must be transcoded to AAC stereo.
The NAS is busy transcoding the file, but the process has not progressed far enough or filled the buffer enough to begin playback and depending on the parameters used in the file and the strength or weakness of your NAS, it may or may not ever start to play.
If it does play at all, then it will most likely play for a few seconds and then pause while it waits to fill the buffer with transcoded video/audio again, before it plays for another few seconds, pauses and so on.
The easiest way around this is to use HandBrake to re-encode the file/s, preferably to H.264/AAC in an MP4 container.
Then replace your original file/s with the re-encoded file/s in your Plex library.
This way, the file/s will play on any device, usually without any issues at all.
I will try to do what you said.
The episode 207 that is on the screenshot is not playing but the episode 206 is playing. NAS is transcoding it and playing it normaly. Dont know what changed, but if your right something did.
Anyway, thank you for help will test it and get back whit the resaults.
