Streaming for MacOs to Yamaha Receiver

Hi, I have my music loaded on my Mac (FLAC Files) and are using Plex as the application to stream to my Yamaha 2-Channel Receiver. Currently I am using an optical cable and it sounds fine but I understand if I use the network it will allow for higher resolution files with the Yamaha decoding?

I was wondering how to configure Plex to send the files across the wired network rather than using the optical cable? Can it be done? Is it easy. Any help would be appreciated.
