I was trying to stream my music in the car yesterday and noticed 10-20 second buffer times between songs. I know gapless audio is not supported but this is a little bit ridiculous. At first I thought it was because it was transcoding to 192kbps but even when i specify original quality it still takes a long time.
Is this normal? I may have to keep using Spotify or local playback if so.
@Gungan you are not alone in this! I have made several posts about this. I have the same issue. If you play music through the app on LAN then it works perfectly, or through other apps not on LAN, including the browser on the phone… but as soon as you try to play it through the Android app not on LAN the buffer time between tracks for direct play is UNBEARABLE. Makes AA only useful if the music is synced locally. I’ve made several posts about this and never gotten any response.
I really hope @elan swoops in and says they’re going to adapt tech they’ve learned from PlexAmp to a mobile music only app or just into the core app so we gain faster start of play, gapless, etc. I use bluetooth audio all the time from Plex in our Uconnect vehicle but always just try to plan ahead and sync the music.
Can I get some clarification? Are you playing an album and the pause is between tracks, or a playlist from different albums and the pause is when switching albums? Please let new know what you are experiencing and provide me a log from the app that has the gap between the 2 songs.
