Streaming remote 4K videos buffers 2 or 3 times to start then video plays for a few mins and gets Playback Error

Server Version#: 1.26.2.5797
Player Version#: Roku app 7.0.9.7701

So here is my situation … I have a plex server at home that is windows based POWERFUL it handles 4K fine never had issues… Now we have a condo in another state, I bought TVs and Rokus got latest LG OLED… So i go to play videos remote from my Plex server in our original house in another state. 1080p plays PERFECT no issues.

if i play a 4K movie/video it will load and buffer 2 or 3 times then it’s good or so i think then after a few mins like 2 or 3 mins it fails with…

Playback Error - connection to server was not fast enough to stream this video check your ntework or try a lower quality.

NOW look it… I have a 1GB down 125mb upload internet connection at our condo where i’m having issues , our our house in the other state where Plex is running i have 900mb connection 23mb upload…

i see absolutely no way this is an internet connection issue. I tried messing around with Direct Play and Allow Direct Stream, disabling one while other is enabled and disabling both and enabling both…

I’m just scratching my head on this one?? i mean do i need to buy another windows PC for our condo and play 4K locally ?? i mean i have no issues streaming from Disney Plus 4K, or netflix 4k, or prime 4k from our Condo…

Please anyone help me out here ? is there some magic setting i can enable on the windows plex server back at home ? or some setting on the roku plex app??

thanks

Unfortunately, your issue is right there in your comment “900mb connection 23mb upload.” The upload at your house that houses the Server is definitely too low for 4K. Have you logged into your console and checked the average bit rates on the 4k movies when playing them? I typically get between 30 and as much as 120 mbps depending on the file. so your upload is probably the issue.
Secondly, If you did have a great Upload speed then you also have to consider the stability between House A and B which you unfortunately do not have control over. this is just another possibility but your uipload is definitely the issue.
