Have had plex server and client on a mac mini in my media room (mapped harmony remote controlling the client), I am also running a client on the Roku in the bedroom. Everything works great although (reading on the site today) I see that my Mac client is in need of an upgrade to Plex Home Theater App.
I've ordered a Raspberry Pi 2 today (should be here someday - backordered). I bought it to run Rasbplex for a stand alone dedicated music streamer. I plan to map 7-8 buttons and a scrolling interface to the raspberry's GPIO and install a small 9-10" LSD as a viewer. I've searched the forum and can't see any topics on this, but I was wondering it was possible to a) through a settings page; lockout video media from showing up in the media menu. or b) through a code mod to comment out those items from the menu? I'd still want my Mac Mini client and Roku client to find video media so the mod would only be for the rasplex client.

Nothing in Rasplex to allow this but you could set up a different Plex user and just share the music library to that user, login to that user on Rasplex and you will only see the music library under shared content. Or, use the Plex Home function, create a local user, perhaps 'Musicroom' and give it access to just the music library, achieves same end but looks prettier, if you ever need to access other libraries you could just switch user.
