Hello new to plex need some help.
I’m on plex server Version 1.21.1.3876 with a Synology DS1520+
I am using MakeMKV to rip my dvds to be used in plex.
Despite using MakeMKV my resolution is always at 480p.
Is there something I’m doing wrong?

That is the resolution of the video on the DVD.
If you want a 1080p version you’ll need the Blu-ray disc version.
Movies on DVD are MPEG2 video and have a max resolution of 480p.
Blu-ray discs support HD & UHD moves. HD movies are H.264 (occasionally VC-1). UHD/4K movies are H.265/HEVC.

Thanks, don’t know why I would think I’d be getting a better quality on regular dvds.
