Files in 576p not 1080p

Hi,

I am new to all this and just setting up a home cinema using a Plex media server

When I save the makermkv file to the Plex server it says they are in 576i not 1080p.

What am I doing wrong?

well… what’s your source and what info do you get when opening the video with a different app (e.g. VLC)?
MakeMKV takes the videos as stored on the disc… so if this is a DVD, 576i should be right. If it’s a Blu-Ray, you should get actual HD – however there’s some discs which come as “SD on Blu-Ray”… in which case the 576i would be the sorry truth.

Well I did say I was new to this :slight_smile: I always thought DVD’s were 1080p!
