So I was browsing my movies earlier and then pressed the big home button on the controller to play a game. Sometime later I went back into plex but for the life of me can not get back to the main plex screen (recently added , recommended etc) , pressing B takes me back to the dashboard , the only other button that does anything is the X which starts a film , oh and the menu button (switch user ,settings )
I have tried every combination of buttons. I realise turning the xbox off will sort it but just wanted to check to see if there’s a simple solution.
Am I being stupid ?!
This is only slightly more elegant than turning the Xbox One off and on, but have you tried quitting the app from the dashboard (highlight the running Plex from the dashboard and press the Menu button and select Quit)? Relaunching Plex after quitting should put you back in the main Plex screen.
Doesn't solve your problem, but it's better than turning off and on whenever you encounter an issue.

Thanks , I didn’t know you could quit apps like that. It’s all back to normal now so fingers crossed it doesn’t happen again.
