stuck in error 109 when installing the profile on my ATV (PMS on synology NAS)

Hi this question was originally posted in the plexconnect on synology thread. I feel stuck so decided to make this a separate ask…thanks for the help!

Hi I hope someone can help me. I am seriously stuck (re) installing plexconnect and it has been driving me crazy. I have recently moved and it took me a while to set everything up again. I can no longer get plexconnect to work and like others I am stuck in installing the profile. I also get the 109 error code and nothing I do seems to solve it. Things I have done are

  • uninstall and re install the plexconnect package
  • reset the apple tv to factory settings and start from scratch
  • change the DNS in my airport extreme to the public google dns server
  • i tried both the apple trailers and the wsj profile both give me the 109 code error
    I have already set my DNS server to the ip address of the NAS and plexconnect is running. Currently the standard apple tv apps do work like they are supposed to. I do not know if that means that is is somehow working via the plexconnect DNS but seriously would not know. I am not a pro in this…
    The only step I did not do is install custom certificates on my NAS. This is always seemed complex to me and I have used Plexconnect for years on my synology without ever having to do that So i tried to stay away from it
    just pulling my hair out here
    any advice and help is welcome and apologies if this is already out there in a post. I did try to solve this by reading the forum first.
    My set up is as follows
    Synology DS 1812+ with DSM 5.2 5592 Update 2
    PMS 0.9.12.6.1347-54c2e56
    plexconnect 0.5-11
    python from synology 0006
    apple tv software 7.2 (7512)

Installed the latest PMS on my Synology, disconnected every remotely related machine (modem router switch etc.) however still no luck. Can ayone help me?

just to let everybody know… it is working. do not really have a clue what did it but these are the steps I took today:

  1. improved the hard wired connection between the router and the atv. was via power line adapters and now straight ethernet connection
  2. removed both the synocommunity and brigittehelsen package links from my package centre and put them back on
  3. did a fresh install on both the nas and did a reset on the atv… this time picked the trailers app instead of wsj during the install (did try that before though)

adding the profile now magically worked without the 109 error….
