I need help troubleshooting, and/or what to look for in logs or files that might cause this issue. This has been happening for months but I haven’t had any luck researching the issue. It is almost every file I play on my server. It occurs during the last few minutes, like ~ <5% remaining. The stuttering/lag is just for a millisecond but repeats until the end. The audio doesn’t hiccup, just the video. What scenario could cause this only during the last few minutes of playback? It would make more sense if performance issues were apparent during the entire playback not just the end.
Only 1 device at my house ever streams Plex. It is an AppleTV HD (2021 2nd gen) connected to the network via a strong wifi connection (AP only ~8ft away w/ line of sight).
On one post I made about 6 months ago a user suggested that it might be tied to end credits detection. It always happens in the last minute or so (maybe 30 seconds) before the end credits start. This is odd because I have disabled scanning for credits. The particular episodes I observed had no tags for credits in the XML. Is there somewhere else I should be looking? Or is the end-credits connection a goose chase?
I haven’t had luck finding general Google or Reddit threads related to stuttering at/near the credits, or credit marker issues.
