I have a Win7 HTPC connected to my Yamaha AVR via HDMI which is then connected to my TV also via HDMI. Whenever I try to play anything, the video playback stutters. I have to restart my AVR which then fixes the issue. So for example, I play an episode of a TV show, the video immediately stutters, I restart the AVR and this fixes the issue. If i start another episode, the stuttering returns and I have to restart my AVR again.
I have noticed that when I play a show/movie that is 24fps, the TV info shows the the refresh rate as 24hz and the playback stutters. Then when I restart the AVR, the refresh rate then becomes 60hz and that is the refresh rate that works (that matches what is also set on the graphics card)
I have the “Adjust Display Refresh Rate to Match Video” setting ticked. Is there an issue with this setting not working properly or could it be something else? I’m not sure why I keep having to restart the receiver to fix the stuttering. Does anyone have any ideas on what’s going on?
