Wondering if someone could help determine an issue with streaming video/movies to my Hisense smart TV.
Whenever I use Plex to stream something it seems to lag and struggle to keep playing smoothly. T
he only way I can play any file without buffering is to drop the quality down to ~480p.
Now I know most people will mention transcoding/file formats but here is the funny thing.
When I play any file (large or small, any format) my TV plays it no problem using the in built Media browser. However the NAS does not always show up on the TV as an option so I like to use Plex as it always seems to connect, but it struggles to play any files comfortably.
I would assume it is simply a network connection issue but I have a stable 90-100mbps connection using an Orbi Mesh network between the NAS and the TV. The head scratching part is that the TV has no issue playing the files but Plex struggles, even when playing the same file. Plex is installed on the TV also, which establishes the network connection is the same either way.
I have tried to find every option i can in Plex settings to alleviate this problem but cannot for the life of me get anything to work properly.
If anyone has some insight I would love to hear it.
