I have a weird issue that I have never experienced before. I am having issues playing any media which is being transcoded correctly while remotely.
While I was thinking that it might be due to HEVC h265 HDR → 720/1080 h264 SDR transcoding, it seems that any media 2160, 1080, 720 is affected by this problem.
I eliminated the network issue as I have 2 symmetrical fibers 1 Gbps on both ends so YES, I can do direct play WITHOUT transcoding with 0 issues but the overall goal is to limit a little bit the upstream from the plex server, so I would like to limit to 1080 and therefore use transcoding.
I am using Tautulli to monitor Plex transcoding and I am seeing that after a couple of minutes, the graphic card (Nvidia T600) gets throttled. I have read that this happens when the graphic card is far in advance. The problem seems to appear when the remote client (Mi Box) seems close to the end of the buffer and the card seems to have trouble kicking in and starting transcoding again. From Tautulli, it seems that the card only stays in throttled mode and never starts transcoding again.
Does anyone have the same issue?
