Tried to open your log, but it was empty and looking at the file size for the attachment it is at 0 Bytes.
sorry about that, this should be better

The speed values on your live transcoding are jumping around quite a bit. Everything above a 1.0 value should be safe, everything below will cause stuttering. At the top of the log it has this listed for your CPU which should not be having issues transcoding:
Apr 25, 2016 19:12:20:817 [1396] INFO - 4 3492 MHz processor(s): Architecture=0, Level=6, Revision=15363 Processor Identifier=Intel64 Family 6 Model 60 Stepping 3, GenuineIntel
I noticed that the file that is starting is mapped to a Z drive, is that a network share?
The only three things that come to mind would be:
The source files are on a remote server that is causing the lag for the transcoder in receiving and outputting data. (IE the remote share isn’t getting the data to the server fast enough)
The temporary drive that Plex is writing the transcode to is getting IO overloaded (IE the read/write for the transcode + other processes is too much for the drive)
The computer is being used for other things and the Plex Transcoder isn’t getting enough of the CPU cycles. (IE it’s a gaming computer running the server and games)
thanks for getting back to me,
its a dedicated computer for plex which is just using plex and sonar,
Yes it is a nas drive, WD mybook live 3tb using a gigabit lan.
would your best suggestion be moving things to aHDD in the computer.
First test I would do is be copying one of the files you’re having trouble with to the server and adding it is a local file and see if you see the same problem. In theory if it is a network problem this should eliminate it the problem and you’ll know where to go from there.
I always recommend centralizing the media to the server as it does remove a number of other factors that could happen. However, it is always nice to figure out what is happening so you can use either setup successfully if you want.
Ill let you know once I get chance to do this, honestly, this is the first time ive had this issue,
Thanks jmckee
