Also noticed that the volume level between transcoding or not is huge.

I had to revert to the latest beta build since the test build 8849 broke my transcoding entirely (regardless of tone-mapping or not), i.e. HW encode/decode wasn’t enforced anymore. Don’t have logs now but as you saw from my last upload, I’m on a i5 TGL NUC w/ Win 10 and up-to-date Intel GPU drivers.
@iophobia looking at your logs there appears to be some sort of permissions error:

It appears that most if not all major issues have been resolved so I am closing this thread.
