How do you set subtitles for an entire TV series instead of per episode? On the Nvidia Shield interface you must select the subtitles at the start of every episode which is either a bug or a pretty funny joke.
I see people were asking for a resolution to this issue 9 years ago:
You cannot set the subtitle and audio stream on Android TV. (for a whole series)
You’ll need to use the web app.
Go to the highest level of the tv show.
Then “Edit” the show.
Go to the Advanced tab.
The settings are at the bottom.
They won’t have an effect if you have set the subtitle selection mode to “only manually” in your account preferences.
(This behavior I consider a bug and I have filed as such already.)
As usual with the automatic subtitle selection, the first manual selection of an audio or subtitle stream will override it for ever on any particular video, for the current user.
