They will be, but only if there is a single media file in the folder - and it will be shown as an Unknown language. E.g. this should work: /Movies/A Movie (2021) A Movie (2021).mkv foobar123.srt

Correctly named extras shouldn’t interfere but any other media variants (additional versions or multi-part files) will result in this method not working.

Basically correct. Except that the (year) always goes into parentheses.
